Today is officially the first day that a precinct chair candidate can file an application for a place of the primary ballot. If you, or someone you know, is interested in serving as a precinct chair, this application needs to be completed, notarized, and turned into the HCRP headquarters downtown. This includes individuals who were recently nominated to serve as precinct chairs. Even if approved by the Executive Committee on September 23, 2013, you must submit an application if you want to run for the 2014-2016 term.
For those who are not familiar with the process of becoming an elected precinct chair, here is an overview:
1. Fill out an application for a place on the primary ballot. Click here to download the application.
2. Have the completed application notarized.
3. Submit the application to the HCRP Headquarters at 3311 Richmond Ave., Ste. 218, Houston, Texas 77098. Click here for a map.
4. Work your precinct for yourself and other potential Republican nominees that you support.
If you have any questions about this process, or if you need any help filing out the application, please do not hesitate to contact our party headquarters at (713) 838-7900. Alternatively, you can also contact me. I’m happy to do anything I can to help you get your ballot application submitted.
The deadline to file for a place on the primary ballot is December 9, 2013. However, I encourage you not to wait until that time. Please file early. Also, if you are a current precinct chair that is not seeking re-election, please find someone in your precinct that is willing to serve. I am convinced that the greatest thing you can do to help the conservative cause is to leave someone behind that will work your precinct when your time of service is through.
Feel free to share this email with your family, friends and other political contacts. It is imperative that we fill all of our vacancies, and the simplest way to do that is by electing precinct chairs directly. Thank you all for your continued hard work and dedication. I look forward to seeing you at the next Executive Committee meeting on Monday, September 23, 2013. Until then, God bless!
