The Harris County Republican Party is deeply saddened by the passing of Harris County District Attorney Mike Anderson. He was a fighter for this community and will be deeply missed by those in the party, the coworkers in his office, and by the citizens of our neighborhoods.
Mike had been battling cancer and undergoing treatments, though he continued to fulfill the obligations of his position.
When asked about justice versus efficiency, and if the duties of his office would ever require him to cross constitutional lines, Mike was clear, "Justice trumps efficiency. But, when you work really hard, with justice as your goal, efficiency naturally follows…..The line is already drawn. That line is the law, and I will follow it."
Our prayers our with his family during this difficult time. They can be proud of the noble life that Mike led both in public and private. Prior to his position as District Attorney, Mike had been a prosecutor for 16 years and then became one of Harris County most respected criminal judges for 12 years. Mike, we will miss you.
